Day Camp Leader - Job Opportunity

St. George’s is seeking a person to fulfill the duties of a day camp leader.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Purchase of supplies for arts and crafts and games. A weekly / monthly budget will be provided.

  • Preparations for the camp (setting up tables and chairs, assisting in game setup, putting away supplies, general clean up, etc.).

  • Plan, organize and lead games, crafts, activities, field trips, and exercises for children ages 4-12.

  • Greet and interact with parents and camp participants.

  • Monitoring of campers during periods of activities, crafts, games, play, and tours.

  • Support campers in maintaining Pandemic Protocols (minimizing physical contact, choosing activities that promote social distancing, maintaining physical distancing at pick-up and drop-off.)

  • Help the children learn social, creative, and physical skills, and to improve existing ones.

  • Help the children develop a healthy attitude and acceptance toward fellow participants by encouraging fair play and good citizenship. 

For this position you will be working Monday to Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm with 30 minutes for lunch for a total of 40 hours each week.  The camp will start on Monday July 5, 2021 and run until Friday September 3, 2021 (9 weeks). 

 

Rate of pay:  $13 - $15 / hour commensurate with experience

 

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

  •  an interest in working with children aged 4-12 (Grades P-6),

  •  comfortable monitoring and assisting children during activities.

  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups of children,

  • the ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time inside and outdoors
