A new season is ready to begin.
We have been having some fun with Greg Milner (now our Past President) during this off season. Just for Greg, we offer this summary version (point form) of our “new season…” news item. If you want more detail, check out the similar titled news item. The next time you see Greg, please feel free to let him know which one you prefer. No hard feelings :-) Actually, now that I read this version….I kinda like it…..Although, for Greg, it still might be too long.
We hope to be open for play, weather permitting, sometime during the week of May 25.
This will be a VERY different year at every tennis club in Nova Scotia and across the country. We ask for your patience on many levels.
Tennis Nova Scotia has worked closely with the province to enable tennis to start now. See TENNIS NOVA SCOTIA website for more info
Our washrooms will be available for use by members playing tennis, but the clubhose will not be available for any purpose.
St. George’s is a social club. Don’t forget that!
We realize the lack of doubles will not be positive for many. You may be surprised what 1 hour of hitting balls, one per side can do to improve your fitness and your tennis game.
We hope doubles will be allowed very soon (not our decision)
To facilitate play this year we are introducing ONLINE COURT BOOKINGS. Stay tuned for more information.
We know you have been patient so far and we are asking for everyone’s patience as we kick off our new season with so many new things we have not needed to do before.
We especially ask for your patience with our club hosts who will be striving to maintain the club, ensure smooth transitions and keep every thing running as smoothly as they can, all while trying to keep their distance and stay safe.
Please respect the health and safety of our hosts and all members.
We are asking everyone to please BOOK A COURT ONLINE BEFORE YOU ARRIVE TO PLAY.
In the interest of fairness, we will be setting certain rules to guide court bookings. Stay tuned for more information this week.
We are currently not able to offer group tennis lessons.
Stefan Hall is back as our club pro and will be offering one-on-one (private) lessons. We will advise you as soon as we have more information.
Stay tuned for much more information to come. Some of the above may change very quickly as we learn about what works, what is not working and new things we may need to introduce or adjust. Did we say we are asking for your continued patience :-)
We hope the virus continues to subside and we wish everyone a wonderful season of tennis.
Please stay safe.
Thank you for being a member at St. George’s Tennis Club.
