TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Entry Deadline: Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 5:00 pm. 

Tournament Dates: Friday, September 11, 2020 at 5:00 pm to Sunday September 13, 2020. 

Entry Fee: $15.00 for entry in one category and $5.00 for second category. Players are limited to entry in two categories and may not play in two singles events.  YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE FOR THIS EVENT.

 All necessary COVID-19 precautions will be taken for the safety of volunteers and participants.

  11. Novice Singles (players of all genders with 3 years or less of tennis experience)

Category explanation: Competitive Categories are for players who play in or are capable of playing in provincial level class A or open tournaments and are comfortable playing against players of a variety of playing levels.  Recreational is for players who enjoy a less competitive game but are still interested in meeting or playing against other players of a similar level. Please contact Jill Robertson if you have any questions as to which category you should enter. 

 

TOURNAMENT RULES, REGULATIONS, & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. Match Formats: All main draw matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point super tiebreak to be played for the third set. If scheduling permits, consolation matches will be 8 game pro-sets. 

2. Scheduling and Scheduling Requests: The Closed is a weekend tournament and players are expected to be available throughout the tournament period, which begins 5:00 pm on Friday evening and runs through Sunday.  Each player is responsible for checking the website or calling the club to check when they play and be present when their match is called. A 15-minute default period will be enforced. 

3. Number of Matches per Day: Players will be expected to participate in up to two main draw matches per event per day (for a maximum of four main draw matches per day).

4. Adjustments: Scheduling, entry categories, match formats, number of matches played per day, etc., are subject to adjustment by the tournament organizers should circumstances dictate (such as inclement weather or lack of participation in a particular category). 

 

 We encourage all members to participate in the Closed tournament.
