The goal of the junior program at St. George’s is to see players develop skills and have FUN! This 8-week program is designed to expand on June group lessons but we welcome juniors who only want to participate in this summer program. These lessons are offered in a group environment. If your junior is new to tennis, this summer program offers anintroduction to tennis; if your junior is familiar with tennis, these lessons provide a refresher on tennis fundamentals and continued progression of their game.

Coach:junior ratios ensure individual attention with group play. Ratios vary depending on the junior level and the colour ball used.

On registration, please use the description below to determine in which lesson your junior should be registered. Each lesson is one hour long and lessons are scheduled as follows:

RED BALL – 9:00 – 10:00 AM

ORANGE BALL – 10:00 – 11:00 AM

GREEN / YELLOW BALL – 11:00 – 12:00 PM/ 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (depending on registration)

Note that juniors will be evaluated during the first week of lessons and may be moved to a different time to ensure they have been placed in the proper session for their development.

RED BALL

This program is for players between the ages of 5 and 7 who have never played tennis or have little experience in the sport. During this program they will learn the fundamentals of tennis using low-compression Red Balls over a mini-net. We aim that by the end of an 8-week session, players can successfully hit a self-fed ball over the net and an incoming ball over the net.

ORANGE BALL

This program is for players between the ages of 7 and 9 who have never played tennis or have little experience in the sport. During this program they will learn the fundamentals of tennis, starting with using orange balls on a reduced-sized court over the regulation net. The goal is for players to hit a self-fed ball over the net and an incoming ball over the net.

Note- Our coach will be flexible and can use Red Balls if necessary to facilitate learning. We prioritize your child’s progress and comfort in the program.

GREEN BALL

This program is for players between the ages of 9 and 11 who have never played tennis or have little experience in the sport. During this program they will learn the fundamentals of tennis, progressing through reduced-size courts to full court play. The goal is for players to hit a self-fed ball over the net and an incoming ball over the net. Progression may vary depending on the level of play.

YELLOW BALL

This program is for players between the ages of 11 and 14 who have never played tennis or have little experience in the sport. During this program they will learn the fundamentals of tennis, starting with using Green balls over the regulation net in a reduced-size court and progressing to yellow balls over the regulation net in the full court, and doing some rallies.
