Club Professional
Job Type: Full-time/Seasonal (May – October)
Position Description:
St. George’s Tennis Club is seeking an energetic coach as our Club Professional. The ideal candidate must be able to work with members of all ages and skill levels and provide
mentorship/continued development to the Junior Club Coaches. This position reports to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a fun and engaging junior program that develops physical literacy and encourages lifelong recreational activity. The program should also support technical development and competition for advanced junior players.
Develop and deliver adult group lessons for members that are engaging and provide technical direction.
Have sufficient availability to provide private lessons to members (beginner through to advanced level).
Provide oversight to Junior Club Coaches.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Current TPA Club Pro 1 Certification (minimum).
Experience working with kids (5 - 14 years old).
Experience teaching group lessons for adults (2.0 – 3.5).
Strong customer service and people skills.
Punctual, organized, including good administrative skills.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Criminal/Vulnerable Sector background check (cost to be paid by St. George’s).
Schedule:
May – October:
- Private Lessons - based on demand and court availability
May – August:
- Adult Group Lessons – 2-3 evenings/week (June – August)
- Junior Program (lessons 1-2 days/week in May/June; lessons on Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday mornings in July/August)
Availability to make up lessons cancelled due to poor weather.
Club may consider alternative schedules if required.
Junior Club Coach
Job Type: Part-time/Seasonal (June – August)
Position Description:
St. George’s Tennis Club is seeking an energetic Junior Club Coach who will be responsible for assisting with the Junior Tennis Program. The ideal candidate will be expected to facilitate a high-quality teaching, learning and FUN environment and must be comfortable interacting with kids of varying ages and skill levels (and their parents), advising them of progress and discuss any issues or concerns. This position reports to the Club Professional.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the delivery of a fun and engaging junior program that develops physical literacy and encourages lifelong recreational activity, and supports technical development and competition for advanced junior players.
Work effectively with the Club Professional and the Duty Hosts.
Report any health and safety concerns promptly to the Club Professional.
Maintain and inventory any junior tennis equipment.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Current TPA Instructor Certification (minimum).
Experience working with kids (5 – 14 years old).
Punctual, organized, including good administrative skills.

June – August:
- Junior Program – Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings
- Assist Club Professional (as requested)
