In any year our opening day is variable. Opening requires court preparation which is always dependent on the weather. This year, due to COVID-19, we have been delayed in starting work to prepare the courts for play, even if the weather would normally allow us to work.
As of early May, we have begun a limited amount of work to prepare the courts for the 2020 season.
We continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 and will update our plans for opening the club for the upcoming season based on input from public health officials and in the best interest and safety of our membership.
We are currently in consultation with Tennis Nova Scotia and the Province regarding the conditions under which tennis could be allowed to resume. Everyone should expect some changes to how tennis can be played safely as COVID-19 restrictions begin to be relaxed. We expect some of these changes will be Public Health “requirements” under which we will be allowed to play tennis. We are hopeful for tennis to resume, possibly as early as late May or early June. Stay tuned for more information.
